AWAITING ADVENTURE

Adventure seems so distant. Planning trips, or even a walk seems surreal these days. British Columbia is on fire and we have been literally living in smoke for weeks. This is not uncommon, however it’s been going on for such a spell that it feels abnormal yet becoming the norm. It has become difficult to exercise outdoors, halting all adventure activities, unless you claim to be hardcore and don’t have asthma like me.

These images are from a while back when I was meant to go on an adventure walk with Stephanie, that day the rain poured down so hard we sat in the car for three hours enjoying a Tim Hortons coffee (yes yes, we had donuts as well), chatting as the rain waylaid our plans.

It feels like we have been constantly waiting, and waiting and waiting, first it was for restrictions to ease, then we had a heat wave, making it unbearable to function, now the smoke is keeping us locked up.

It will be so bizarre to be able to wander in the great outdoors and not have a thought in the world. I look forward to that day, for I sure do miss adventuring with camera in hand!!
