This photo shoot with Georgia was heaps of fun!! She’s a youth that I work with and have gotten to know over the last year and here she is repping the clothing brand ‘MSSN’ [@justmssn] a company that focuses on helping youth to not feel so alone in whatever struggles they face.
The main mission of the clothing initiative is to help youth that feel secluded, lonesome or anxious, know that they are not alone in what they are going through. It was neat reading up on this company to hear that a portion of what they make from selling their clothes goes to different local charities that help youth in different areas with mental health issues.
These odd days of covid sure can mess with your mind and most definitely youth aren’t the only ones who struggle with thoughts of being alone.
I really like that this clothing company thought ahead to what a person wearing the item would be thinking and thought to place the words ‘NOT ALONE’ written upside down so that when you look down you can read it and remember, ‘hey wait a second, things can feel bleak but I’m not in this alone’. I think that’s quite clever!!
It was refreshing to see a local youth of Revelstoke so passionate about helping others to see that they can reach out and share the struggles they face and not feel so isolated.
Mental health can affect you physically, emotionally, it can change your mood, what you feel, your behavior and can cause depression, anxiety and many more symptoms. If you need a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen reach out, there are lots of folk or organizations that are out there.
